Adversarial antagonists are painful to bear but integral to our life’s purpose and lessons.

It’s a common theme I’m seeing in many people’s lives, including my own: the prevalence of selfish, greedy, evil, and self-serving antagonists. Characters that may initially be perceived as good people, but are actually villains in disguise.

When our own inner worlds are so full of love and light, optimism, and appreciation for beauty and kindness, it’s just so hard to imagine how anyone in the world could be thinking and feeling the complete opposite.

You know those types of people that can literally transmute good into bad, make everything about them, or commit such heinous acts of behaviour that leave you pondering whether fairness or morality even exist in the world?

For those who are empathetic and sensitive to others’ emotions and wellbeing, it is literally an impossible task to ask us to behave in an evil and completely self-serving manner. Therefore, we cannot comprehend how others manage to do so.

How is it that such terrible people exist? How do they get away with their heinous acts and behaviours? If everyone around me is stooping to such low heights, shouldn’t I do the same? Why be virtuous when nobody else is doing so?

I am multifaceted: I am a lover of science & medicine, but also of spirit & mind. I enjoy exploring the dichotomy, the duality and the connectedness in between.
